Sonshine Families

Sonshine Cove – An inclusive overnight camp for children and adults with physical or developmental disabilities. Camps run two weekends a month, starting from September 22, 2023, during March break and Summer. Cost is $425 per weekend, covering food, accommodations, programing, and transportation from the community inclusion center in Orleans. Optional 1-on-1 staffing is available for an extra fee of $415. Prism Options

Hoops with Friends –  For Adults and Teens with special needs. On Fridays, from 6 pm – 7:30 pm, starting on September 8, 2023. Cost is $84 for 7 sessions.

In Motion – For Adults and Teens with special needs. On Mondays, from 11:15 am to 1 pm, starting on September 11, 2023. Cost is $217 for 11 sessions.

Move to the Beat – Adaptive choreography classes providing engaging, joyful and creative movement repertoire for anyone drawn to upbeat music. Starting on September 10, 2023. Cost is $81 for 6 sessions.

 

 

Empowered Wellness

Social and Emotional Learning – A combination of outdoor activities, coping strategies, and conflict resolution, and improved communication skills. 9 am to 12 pm or 1 pm to 4 pm. Cost is $160 per session.

Social and Emotional Learning Program – An individualized education plan to prepare students for mainstream education. Spaces are available full time and part time for $55 per hour.

Teen Life Skills – The program covers social skills, money management, cooking, and nutrition. An 8-week program, starting September 19, 2023, from 5 to 6:30 pm.

ABA Therapy – Structured evidence-based method for behavior analysis and modification. Focuses on enhancing essential social behaviors like communication, interactions, adaptive skills, and academics. Offered from 9 am to 11 am or 1 pm to 4 pm at $65 per hour.  Please visit the website for other services.

CVE Inc.

Pediatric Physiotherapy – For parents seeking private pediatric physiotherapy services. Offering services by a physiotherapist with 20+ years of experience treating all age groups and impairments, especially those suffering from developmental disorders and delays in milestones. St. Lawrence College

CICE – The CICE program provides an excellent college pathway for students with developmental and intellectual disabilities or other significant learning challenges who do not meet the entrance requirements for other college programs. Please refer to the attached flyer and poster for more information about the program and upcoming information sessions. The application deadline is mid-August.

University of New Brunswick

Research Study – Autistic high schoolers (Grade 9-12) are needed for an online interview about their experience preparing to transition to adulthood. Parents of autistic high schoolers can also participate in an online interview regarding their child’s preparation for adulthood.
